Blooms

Sorry these pictures are a little dim in color. I retook them as night was falling because my earlier photos were taken while my card was not properly installed. As you can see we have maple trees growing in our window boxes (and everywhere else!).

My new honeysuckle.

My clematis is about to burst into bloom, and my roses have lots of buds... I am loving my garden this year!

How good and pleasant it is

When brothers live together in unity!

For there the LORD bestows his blessing,
Even life forevermore.

It is sweet watching and listening to the boy playing together. Yesterday their new magazine came in the mail and the were so excited to sit down and read it together.

Love!

Holy Moley

I said holy moley in the car the other day.

I am trying to teach my children not to use words uselessly, so I checked myself and said, "Boys, moley is not holy.". Not sure what moley is, but...

A few minutes later I hear Seth say from the backseat of the car, "Mom, anything set apart for God IS holy.".

Good point son, good point. I guess moley could be holy if I could just figure out what it is and set it apart for God.

Upon further inquiry Seth wasn't too sure what something being set apart for God meant (lest you think too highly of my son's theological prowess...)

Proof and update.

I took a picture of the sign, since I was back at the commissary. I didn't trip this time! :o)

And we had a retreat with the youth at our church this last weekend. It was great. The boys went with us, and Seth asked if Daddy was going to be out of the AF by the time he is a teen so he could come back here and go to Spring Fling. Glad they loved it. Getting tired boys back on schedule and doing their chores again was a bear, but worth it to love on and build relationships with the students.

And if you have never heard of them and are twelve, there is a great Korean boy band called Super Junior... (youtube has videos if you are curious!)

Tomorrow I will try and post some pictures of my garden. I am loving it this year and have been out most mornings picking baby maple trees out of it.

Squeaky giveaway...

The guest room bed squeaks. Today the boys were playing in there without permission. I reminded them to play in their room. A little later I heard it again and called them down to remind them face to face.

"Why are you playing in the guest room?"
"Panda had to go to the doctor and is having her baby."

Oh. Well, what can you say to that?
I tried to sneak up and get a picture of the labor and delivery, but evidently it was all over by then and this is all I got...

The boys are at a stage when they don't like me telling stories about them, but I want to remember all this fun, and I am sure you would be enjoying them just as much if you were here! Just don't tell them it is on my blog, okay? :o)

Zoo trip.

Our good friends are moving away soon. I took their boys to the zoo so they could get their house ready for sale. Seth helped hold Ryan's hand and was his buddy all day when needed. Gavin pushed Connor almost the whole time! It was such a fun and easy trip with such great helpers! We are going to miss them when they go.

Baking with my boys.

Last week Seth and Gavin each made a recipe of chocolate chip cookies out of their own cookbooks. One got voted best dough to eat, the other was tastier cooked. We got to share them with our neighbors. Gavin was quite proud of how messy he got! This morning I got downstairs to find Seth making his own breakfast. He had found bagels in the fridge and was making himself a recipe from his cookbook that calls for bagel, cheese, apple slices and cinnamon sprinkled on top. He was being bery obedient not using a sharp knife without help, and said to me, "I am having trouble cutting my apple.". He had a cutting board and butter knife and a mangled apple. A+ for effort! I cut the apple and he did all the rest, including toasting it in the toaster oven. Then Gavin wanted to make something from his cookbook, so we had Banana Sundays after dinner tonight. Yummy! I love that we can do so much together now!!!!
