Mothers Day 2012

This morning we went to church, then I got taken out for lunch.

Brittany, our awesome babysitter graduated this weekend, so we went to her party this afternoon.

Then I took a short nap, and Andrew cooked me a yummy dinner.
(During dinner we had to remove a tick from Seth's ear. Yuck!)

It has been a lovely day. I am so blessed to have a husband and sons who love me so well.

Courage

Seth has been really brave lately.

Walking to the other end of the court to ask some bigger boys if he could join them playing basketball. After they said "no," he asked more kids to join us for dinner. They said yes and soon all the kids but the boys who said no were hanging out on our side of the court.

Seth tried jumping his bike on the ramps at our friends house, on their gravel driveway. He tore up his knee really badly, but got back on the bike afterwards like I asked him to, and rode it again today.

I am so proud of him for being so courageous and daring. He has always been my cautious kid and would only do things if he was sure to succeed. Even in the face of challenges he is going after things. Praying that God will bless this son of ours! We know he has lots of challenges ahead of him and these lessons will serve him well.

Painting and woodworking day.

Andrew and I are working on rebuilding my antique garden bench. He cut the slats, and I am sanding and painting. Mulching happens today, also. Half done, but ran out of mulch. Garden pictures in a day or so when everything is in and done... :o)

Savoring.

Working.
Gardening.
Playing.
Reading.
Learning.
Laughing.

All those tough mothering moments are starting to pay off. And the sweet cuddly little boy moments are going to be fewer and farther between....

Oh, my heart!

Family Fun

Family day at the water park. Andrew is off work, and we are doing a lot of working and playing ths week. We visited the local water park yesterday. These boys were so gleeful and loved it soooooooooo much. This non-splashy mom really enjoyed it despite the splashing and having forgotten her contacts. Seth even held my glasses for me so I could go down the water slide. We let them be more independent, and they did very well. If only we could bottle these moments up for later!!

Sad.

My ipad screen is broken and splintering.

The dog knocked it down and stepped on it.

A trip in the car across town finished the job.

BIG BUMMER!!!!

10 years!!!!

I made my love one alfredo for dinner tonight, and it was love on a plate aftercooking in my hot sticky kitchen. It is close to 90's today. We had a lovely dinner on the back patio. We are going out tomorrow to celebrate.

Gavin took a picture of his dinner, too...ramen noodles!!!!

I love how full my life is with people I love. We are so thankful for all the memories we have together. I am thankful I still have both my sons to snuggle and read and laugh and play with! I am thankful for the adventure that life is with Andrew in the AF. God has been sooooooo good to us!
